8 Chains North is a small family-owned and -operated farm winery located in the town of Waterford in picturesque Loudoun County, Virginia. Our business began in 2006 when our original vineyard, Furnace Mountain, was planted by father and son on the bluffs of the Potomac River. We believe that the best wines begin in the vineyard, and invite you to enjoy a glass or bottle with us.
Planning on bringing your dog to the winery? We welcome your well-behaved canines. Please read our dog policy before you come—it has recently changed and we are no longer able to allow dogs inside the winery. Leashed dogs are most welcome on our outdoor dining patio, as well as the dog park. We look forward to seeing you and your furry family members soon.
Congratulations! If you and your beloved are looking for the romance and beauty of a vineyard ceremony, then consider hosting your wedding at 8 Chains North. We offer outdoor ceremonies, with receptions in our “rustically elegant” Compass Rose Room. The full winery is also available after hours. With wedding packages to suit most budgets, let us show you how we can make your special day one to remember. Plus, we have a super deal for $1000.00 off for brides still looking to book a 2017 wedding. Read all about it here. >>
